Meg and Tim’s Brisbane wedding

For Meg and Tim, like many couples trying to tie the knot in 2020 to 2022, COVID-19 had other plans! As they set about planning their wedding, they welcomed their delightful bundle of joy Claire into the world, and embarked on the frenetic life of new parents. Wanting something simple and tasteful, without too much fuss for their wedding day, they decided to surprise their family and friends with an engagement party that transformed into a fairytale Brisbane marriage ceremony.

What I loved most about this marriage ceremony

Brisbane turned on a magical, sun-drenched Autumn day and the setting in the private grounds of a classic Queenslander home was truly unique. As the guests thought this was an engagement party, the vibe was very relaxed, just as the couple wanted, so when I announced that it was in fact a wedding, everyone was suitably surprised and also overwhelmingly delighted! It created just the right amount of excited buzz and chilled enjoyment.

I also loved:

  • The bride’s stunning yet simple Zimmermann dress
  • The inclusion of their daughter, Claire, niece, Indie, and dog, Dexter, in the ceremony
  • The bride’s soft pink orchid bouquet

Some unique wedding ceremony touches

Keen to wear items significant to them as a couple and their families, the bride wore a locket with a photo of her daughter, as well as her great grandmother’s pearls. The groom wore his father’s and grandfather’s signet ring.

What made the marriage ceremony extra personal

The couple included some personal vows as part of the ring exchange which was a lovely, unique touch. Of course, including their daughter, Claire, as part of the ceremony and their extended families was also very special. Even Dexter the dog decided to insert himself into the bridal party – see below!

The wedding ceremony – in the couple’s own words…

Maria was such a professional. She explained everything in detail, such as what was going to happen and how it all works. We were never left
guessing.

And the team that made the dream wedding ceremony come true…
