How much does a marriage celebrant cost?

Ceremonies start from $650 for elopements and from $950 for full wedding ceremonies. This includes all paperwork and legal requirements, as well as working with you to craft your personal ceremony. The final price depends on the size and complexity of what you have in mind, and I am happy to confirm pricing once I know a little more about your day.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Most couples book three to twelve months ahead, although I do take bookings at shorter notice when my calendar allows. In Australia, a Notice of Intended Marriage must be lodged at least one month before your wedding date, unless you can secure a shortening of time from a prescribed authority.

What areas do you cover?

I am based on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, and mostly perform ceremonies across Southeast Queensland, including north to Noosa, west to the Hinterland and Scenic Rim, and south to the Gold Coast. I can also perform ceremonies elsewhere in Australia. I do not charge travel fees for most locations, so just ask and I will confirm.

Do you write the ceremony script yourself?

Yes, I write every ceremony from scratch. I will send you a preview of the script before the day so you can read it, adjust anything, and feel completely comfortable with what will be said.

Question 5

Can we write our own vows?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. You can write your own vows, use a version I suggest, or a mix of both. There are a small number of legal words that must be included, but beyond those, the ceremony is entirely yours. I will guide you through it so it does not feel overwhelming.

What happens if we need to change our date?

Accepted Answer

Life happens, and I understand that. If your date changes, get in touch as soon as you can and I will do everything I can to accommodate you, subject to availability.
